A Complete Series of 8 Videotapes on Measurement

This series presents a straightforward introduction to basic measurement. It is structured to quickly bring the viewer up to speed on general measurement theory and on specific measurement techniques. Several tapes are devoted to generic measurement issues. Others focus on common measurement problems. The principles which underlie standard measurement devices are discussed and hardware examples are presented. Demonstrations are included from a variety of locations including the Mt. Washington Observatory, MIT, and the Omega Engineering Laboratories. The series was produced by MIT Video Productions in collaboration with Omega Engineering.

ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY
(EMC) PRINCIPLES VIDEO COURSE
1996 Edition   University of Missouri-Rolla
Many engineers and technicians need training in EMC principles and measurements techniques. This course provides the following fundamental EMC concepts; encourages good EMC design techniques; helps to develop an ability to diagnose and solve EMC problems; to reviews methods and tools available to help design compliant products. The course addresses the history and definition of EMC, the applicable regulations and tests. The following topics are covered in detail: Ampere's law of inductance, common impedance coupling, capacitive and inductive coupling, crosstalk in cables, electromagnetic radiation and wave propagation, circuits as antennas using CM and DM currents and practical EMI shielding. Other topics include frequency-domain representation of time domain signals, high frequency component modeling, digital logic devices, printed circuit boards as EMI sources, susceptibility issues with printed circuit boards, power bus decoupling, PCB design and layout, circuit and system ground, EMC filter design, ESD design and modeling and much much more.

Included with the twenty video cassettes and text are two practice exams and several problem assignments. The University of Missouri will grant 4 Continuing Education Units to any applicant who is interested in taking and successfully completing a final exam.
